How do I recommend periodicals ?
- Foreign Language Periodicals
The library discusses with each department every April and comes out with a purchase list for the coming year. The periodicals on the list will be purchased after being approved by the library committee. - Chinese Periodicals
There is an evaluation toward recommended Chinese periodicals at the beginning of each semester. If the periodicals meet academic needs, they will be purchased.
What order are the periodicals in ?
Current periodicals are kept in the Periodicals Area on Library 2nd floor.
Chinese journals feature popular titles first, with remaining issues arranged by stroke count order of the journal title; Western journals are arranged alphabetically.
Bound periodicals are kept on the B1 floor. Please search Library WebPAC to see if the periodicals are bounded or if electronic versions are available.
Can I borrow periodicals ?
Current and bound periodicals are for library use only. CYCU professors may borrow periodicals with their service cards due to academic or special needs but are required to return them within 24 hours. If the professor authorizes another person to borrow periodicals for them, both IDs have to be shown.
Where can I borrow language learning journals ?
Current issues of language learning journals, such as “Analytical English,” “Let’s Talk in English,” and “Studio Classroom,” are available in the Periodicals Area on the second floor. Readers may visit the periodicals area directly to browse these materials.
Where do I find the newspapers ?
Current newspapers (covering the latest 3 months) are available in the periodicals area. The collection includes the Taipei Times and 7 Chinese newspapers, all for library use only.
For additional information, please consult our Library Guide – Newspapers Resources.
