Current and bound periodicals are for library use only. Professors may borrow them with their service cards due to academic or special needs but are required to return them within 24 hours. If the professor authorizes another person to borrow periodicals for them, both IDs have to be shown.

Materials in the Information Commons are restricted to in-library use only.

Faculty members may authorize others to borrow books for them and both IDs have to be shown. Call 03-2652831 to notify our staff.

This indicates that these books do not belong in the library collection. Please find out which department they belong in and ask if you can borrow them.

Since we use an open stack system, items may be temporarily unavailable due to patron use or misshelving. Complete a Missing Book Search Application Form and our staff will locate the item, reserve it for you, and send an email/text notification when it’s ready for pickup at the circulation desk.

Yes. Books and book annexes are returned separately. If there is any damage done due to human error, you will be charged for it. Please view Rules for Using Book Drop in CYCU Chang Ching Yu Memorial Library for more details.

Items returned via the book drop will be cleared as soon as possible (from Monday to Friday). Please check if your borrowing history has been updated and report any questions to us.

If the book is not reserved by anyone else, your classmate may renew it right away. If the book is reserved by another person, they will have to reserve it and wait till the book is returned.

If the book is not reserved or overdue, you may renew it on our website, call 03-2652833 and have our staff renew it for you, or bring your student card to the front desk and renew it in person (new due dates are calculated from the renewal).

If the book is not reserved, you may renew it at the front desk after all fines are waived.

Most patrons can renew materials before the due date if no other patrons have placed holds :

Books: up to 3 renewals
Audiovisual materials: up to 2 renewals

Online holds are available for items with these statuses:

On hold shelf
Due MM-DD-YY
In cataloging
Missing item search in progress
Whereabouts unknown

Hold Pickup:
You may reserve them in 7 days after the books are available. If you do not pick up the books you reserved, they will be returned to the stacks.

You’ll receive an email notification when your reserved item is available. Items are held for 7 days at either the circulation desk or self-service pickup locker (based on your selection). Use your library card to collect the item within the hold period.

We apologize for the inconvenience. Please fill out a search form and we will inform you as soon as the books are found.

This might be due to the following reasons :

1. You entered the wrong PIN or forgot your PIN. Please bring your student card to the front desk and have our staff change it for you.
2. Please make sure the number of books you may borrow and the number of times you can renew are not over the limit. Some readers are not eligible for book reservations and renewals.
3. The book cannot be reserved.
4. There are books you haven’t returned or fines that haven’t been waived. Please inquire our staff to find out the reason.

The library provides various circulation notification services to keep you informed about your account activity and library services :

Email Notifications
The system automatically generates notifications and sends them to your official university email address:
Undergraduate students: s[student number]@cycu.edu.tw
Graduate students: g[student number]@cycu.edu.tw

Update Email Address
If you don’t use your university email, you can update your preferred email address by logging into My Library Account & Renewing on the library website.

Mobile Notifications
If you have installed the library LINE Bot on your mobile device and completed account setup, you will also receive push notifications for borrowing and return activities.

  • Fine begins on the 4th day after the due date
  • NT$5 per item per day
  • Maximum fine: NT$500 per item

Every book is NT$1500 by default in the system. The book will be marked as “missing” after the sixth overdue notification. If you return the book by then, the overdue days will be calculated and a fine will be issued. If the book is actually missing, you must go through the compensation process.

If you lose or damage any books, you should report to the front desk (or call 03-2652831). You should complete the compensation process in 2 weeks after you reported. If you don’t, you will be charged an additional fee. If you report after the books are overdue, you will be charged another additional fee, which is calculated from the fourth day till the day you complete the compensation process, besides the previous fee.

You may have unreturned books or fines that are not waived. Please contact the library to find out what the problem is.

Besides applying for a new library card, you should call 03-2652831 and report immediately. We will freeze your card in case it is used by another person. You may continue borrowing books after a new library card is issued to you.

Please apply for a new library card. You may borrow books with other valid IDs before you receive your new library card.

You are fully responsible for any books that were borrowed with your library card. Please contact us immediately to deal with the problem.

Please click on the link for more details.

Please return the books you borrowed from other schools and fill out a form before the card expires (within 40 days). You must also pay NT$500 for the missing card.
